Every Day is a Quiet Disaster

Saturate the underground; keep the house lights dim to stop the children from whispering.

No one speak! No one breathe! Hold your loved ones tight because that rumbling is the world caving in

Pressure bursts, the world inhales as our DNA begins to evaporate, and it hurts like hell!

"Blow winds blow, rage and crack your cheeks" [King Lear], until we’re not breathing

Oh how I pray that disaster ruins me and in a final breath we'll all scream "we'll die hearts wide not bearing the flag of defeat", but who to the blame we'll thrust and our world entrust?

No time for questioning “what the fuck?” just black…

Better go tell the wife “I got caught in an A-Bomb, I won’t be home ‘til long past five...”

Surrounded in this room, surrounded in a sea of ignorance but if it's a price that we bear then we will become millionaires

Pressure grows to such a force that the people alive are jealous of those who are not, suffering in vain to shield the blinding light from tearing out their eyes

No. Blaze. Of. Glory. Just the sound of quiet now

Oh my god what did you think, our worthless ends would make it to the front page news?

We'll forget you

Despite what you think you know, you won't go down a fucking hero. Surprise me by explaining that we're too young to die for nothing, so save yourself for someone more beautiful, someone more successful, and with obvious guilt we forget our future, with obvious sin we forget our future.

Dont pretend that nothing is better than knowing how it all will end

It's ok when that there's nothing left to say besides "we're tired"

Henry Marsh

Oh we need to be more like you

Always we put our own lives in the way and we question, “What’s the difference that one person could possibly make?”

One way or another we are failing every good intention we are making.

Wait and we wait and we wait

This is not what we wanted

We all look the other way

This is not what we wanted

We all look to someone else

Suspicions will be constructed and we got what we wanted but we’ll never achieve our potential release

Our lives are spiralling, outside of these walls we are nothing at all, we’re nothing at all

Besides tragedy we will sit where we are and we won’t lift an arm

Run away. Hide away. Turn away from everyone who needs a suggestion of help if it means we lose out in any way. Either way, who’s to say we have the right to turn our heads and we’ll never forget, we’ll never regret

Aren’t we all tied down by selfishness and doubt?

Henry Marsh we’re not but we’ll do what we can in the absence of god

One way or another we will help you fold all the papers and the tv news

Wait and we wait and we wait but we don’t move our arms

Waiting, we’re waiting and we’re waiting

Do what we can while our breath remains, there’s nothing that’s holding us back

Your Opinion is Wrong

Move over reason, your logic is such a terrible resource; don’t you see where it’s got me?

Left so despondent and overwhelmed by these options that these people are trying to sell

But you can’t all be right; we can’t all be winners on lottery night, well surprise surprise surprise

It’s just all so far fetched, to make me believe

How we walk so blind, at every turn there’s a right and a left, won’t something throw light on the wrong and the blessed?

We’re finding our own god to help us believe in ourselves

Devote or deny

Nothing to lose, there’s nothing to lose

Regardless of option

If it’s darkness for you then it’s darkness for two

Hey, it’s not like we’re having such fun just circling around around and besides we’ll never feel love half as much as you feel loved

Ten times playful nine times successful

He crossed the same road, across the same

Eight-wheeled pressure, seven slide over

The treacherous ground and his delicate frame

Now six people crowd the five-year-old boy and they pray for three hours to save her only son

There is nothing you can do to save him

But you still see his face

Where’s your god now? Where’s your god now?

Offering shit in return, you still give your time; you still worship Him, oh poor misguided fool

How can you bring yourself to return to that room, place your head to the floor and pray to the one that stole your baby boy

But if it makes you see clear, it keeps your head up in the presence of death then I appreciate the purpose of faith in your routine

And if you suffer this loss, you lose all your friends, your family’s dead, but oh you raise your head and whisper

“it’s for the best”

Then maybe, just maybe, your persistence is working

Happy Ever Afternoon

Can we supply with the scalpel happiness unrestrained?

Such measured conversations define our generation

Carve out the looks we rely on

Iron out the creases in our weathered skin

Our society’s advert still reads

“Fix all your failings today!”

We polish shit

But like it or not

Nobody here is perfection

But oh we’re coming close

After all, it’s just electrical impulse

“Improve your life, go under the knife”

Cos soon enough we’ll start breaking from the inside

Take out my heart, fix me with a clock that never stops

Emotion’s not allowed, it will just slow you down

Evolve so we will never have to feel

Half as lonely as I do or half as ugly as me

Break me!

I don’t wanna be repaired, cos our mirrors reflect who we are in here

Such a temporary fix for a pulmonary flaw

Robots we will become

This character flaw will become a trait among people who feel they’re meaningless ‘til they look like something we’d accept

And everything you own decays to dust and I empathise

Cos all you want to be is more beautiful for tomorrow

More beautiful for tomorrow

For the small price of your pride we’re offering designer heart strings

Guaranteed to make you live, so long as you are happy

I hope this will be a happy ever after

I hope this will be a happy ever afternoon

Dichotomy

Focus blue eyes, this rescue is pulling us down by our politics and the lies that surround them

This battle wears on but the enemy strikes from behind my eyes but you know I’ve never cared, never will

I went to bed with a carcass just ‘cos it moved more than you

We outstretch our hands with the hope that some revenue will fall through

In the end what will become will become for you and me

It makes us feel, so feel.

The seduction’s beautiful but I will wear you like a glove

…Cos you’re worth it!!!!

Has something broken?

We need to find our own way back home

Half of life is having love

I can remember all that you said, it makes me see there’s no direction to success

So this vessel has come to a halt with the driftwood beneath our bones

This is no place to live but it feels like home

Such earnest intent to change everything

Let’s change ourselves

No battle, no scar

We need envy to fire our hearts

It’s not the arrow that’s poison, it’s our blood

No devil, no god

But I’ve never cared, never will

Investment Intercourse: A Deposit

Fire. Emotion. Orgasm evoking.  This will define us

This should define everyone with working organs and hearts that refuse to beat in time

Lifestyles careering. Distractions appearing

Who to invest myself in? Regardless of feeling, devoid of all beauty

But this is forward progression

Strategise a plan to redefine your target market or they’ll swallow you and formulate a plan to spit you out

Your reputation is teetering pitifully in the cold of their hands

Why can’t we do everything just for love with all your friends,

down here where no one ever cares about a virtual friend count or the latest headlines

We are young and impassioned; we are deities

Won’t you believe in us now.

Everything Happens To Eeyore

Row. The vessels meandering so slow but the current is quickening beneath the tired, the weary, the selfish and the guilty

We won’t let you in so go home

The pessimist dies tonight

Believe that this world isn’t dead

So row for life, row for love

Nobody here is happy all of the time

You think we don’t hurt? You think we don’t all die?

We have our problems just like you, but we keep them buried under hope

We have hope that in everything there will be something bright

At least you can say “I am alive”. More than some

Reluctant wandering

Disease tracking up your veins to the core, better resist the urge to fall right on the small of your back and let the ground enfold you

But the ground will hold firm

You have no hole to climb out of

Row. The current will pull you down back to places so miserable

This is the end of the pessimist

This is the end of the decadence

Sleep is for the Week

Let the light in

The time has come to exhale guilt and calculations right now

We mark the gravestone with tragedy but we’ll call it the unknown unseen defeat

Circus of discipline and fear, remove a chair and start again

Let’s plan a takeover, fill every hole with cement to constrict the exit numbers

Everything will turn out wrong now everybody’s gone

Our final song has become my number one and now all my friends are dead

Oh the agony of choice: resentment or remorse

Everything we don’t escape makes another hole

Everything we won’t admit are just our excuses

I told the world that I was busy right until the end

Suddenly it’s getting harder to breathe and this place is darker than you know

No resolve burning through me; it’ll take a knife to restore the order of resolution in my head

I sleep alone

Remission can never come from the lifeless

Just sleep, no sunshine

Give up the ghost of perfection

This will strengthen the ramparts, the borders and battlements but it won’t keep the guilt out

Flawed.    Failure.    This will draw the air from your lungs

Born traitor.  This will be your downfall

So raise heavy head up and revive this body

Or we’ll burn out sorry self-centred eyes wide

Fifteen Hour Drive

Fifteen hour drive

Lifetime’s divide

Fifteen hour drive

Never subsides

When the Tiger Lost his Voice

Speak with such conviction in your eyes but how can we relate the things you’ve never felt besides an addiction to milk or losing something that is fluffy on the outside

Words are just half the translation

Take away the tiger’s stripes he is a tiger still

Take away the tiger’s stripes he’ll roar to show he’s king

Feel who we are

Without our art we have no voice

We lack the freedom of translation but we have the freedom of expression

This is where the essence of tiger lies

This world will exist when we close our eyes

Admire your reflection of twisted elegance

Parade around in those suspicious overalls

Not used to extra weight dragging you down

Eviction; your identity is flawed

Caress your best details, aim to impress the audience by doing something with your hair

Hungry to satisfy stereotype, he roars to tell the world he’s alive

No relief even when we roars

Lean sinews pulled tight, he arches his back ready to strike

Freedom to express our frustration

Forced to accept limitations of translation

Stand tall but don’t say you’re surprised by his freedom of voice inside of these walls

Stripes lost, but his appearance does not define his identity

Before your next real fight reflect on what you’ve become

Peer straight mouth open wide, ignore the jaded colour of your tongue

When tiger lost his stripes then tiger is still tiger

When tiger lost his tongue he still expressed his passion

When tiger lost his voice then tiger was no more

The Unspeakable

Second chance to fornicate with the devil

Bitter hearts don’t pro-create security

You fortify your promises on a fuel but you may as well make promises to a god

Blood lines define that we’ll still be here tomorrow

Impulse buyer; compulsive liar

I flirt with the idea that this is only in my throat but paper has never weighed so much

Despite these strict regulations and credulous pride to pay this scheme is just for survival

How time corrupts us all despite of the said clause because every wealthy man has his medal

This routine must be survival ‘cos nothing you could be could appreciate the fact that man has needs

Once more we see a rise and fall

Won’t we learn? We all suffer the same misery; paranoia.

A mortal dysfunction of the highest detail but make no mistake it’s breathing everything we need into everything we have

We were brought in with bright eyes and we will witness the world’s end

I fell asleep in the ocean a thousand miles from here but this crashing around my head is keeping me awake

We believe in everything we’re told but our knowledge is only as meaningful as what our beating hearts are told

Is love enough?

Is love enough to credit us? To hold us in a trance and idolise our better half

Do we adjust our responses to realise we must commit to society if we will fit

I want to populate another world

Nothing is wrong but nothing is real

But no ones to know

We fall like the rain but we run like a river

We fall everywhere but we join to a river
